19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in that event previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to come to the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion fought back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the final five games to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
